‘The Thinker’ sculpture raises awareness of disability access

Sculpture by the Sea artist Julian Pereira fights to spark conversations about inclusion in public spaces.

Sydney artist Julian Pereira created The Thinker to encourage the public to reflect on the accessibility of public spaces for wheelchair users. Once an able-bodied volunteer at Sculpture by the Sea, Pereira now returns to the exhibition at Cottesloe as a wheelchair user and artist, using his work to advocate for change.
